Responsibilities

Works collaboratively with the Executive Director of Education and Director of Education to lead, plan, implement, and monitor instructional and operational activities at The Day School, ensuring alignment with departmental priorities, administrative policies, and organizational standards.

Provides leadership and oversight for all aspects of the IEP process, including compliance, scheduling, team participation, documentation review, and implementation fidelity.

Provides strategic oversight for curriculum development, instructional planning, and program implementation across The Day School to promote high-quality, evidence-based educational practices and student achievement.

Determines eligibility for ESY services; coordinates staffing, procedures, scheduling, and service delivery; and supports the development and maintenance of agreements with school districts and intermediate units.

Supervises student intake processes, educational personnel, and classroom programs, with responsibility for maintaining instructional quality and adherence to performance expectations outlined in The Day School’s observation and evaluation tools.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, School Administration, or related field from an accredited college or university required.
  • Pennsylvania Certification as a Supervisor of Special Education or actively pursuing this certification required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in special education, including demonstrated expertise in educational assessment and diagnostic practices, instructional program development, staff training, and the implementation of evidence-based educational practices.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and supporting multidisciplinary teams, coaching and developing professional staff, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that result in positive student outcomes.
