Educational Assistant - Special Education (F/T) (Soule Elementary School)

Performance Responsibilities

• Work with students individually, in small groups, or in large groups as necessary and as prescribed by the immediate supervisor.
• Classroom and Support Assistants: Usually work with students in the general school population.
• Special Education Assistants: Usually work with students with identified special needs, or who require additional educational assistance as defined in an individual education plan (IEP).
• Assistants provide support in the appropriate educational setting.
• Demonstrate a continuous sensitivity to the needs of children to whom they are assigned.
• Carry out instructional or developmental activities suggested by the teacher, specialist, or others designated by the building administrator.
• Maintain competency and skills through a variety of available offerings.
• Educational Assistants may be responsible for personal care needs of student(s).
• Educational Assistants may be expected to obtain and maintain CPI (Non Violent Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
