Educational Aide

Job Summary

Performs a variety of non-teaching classroom support and student care services as directed.

Rates

$18.96-$24.39 per hour - Starting hourly rate based on experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma
• Has or is able to attain a valid Ohio Educational Aide Permit
• Highly motivated self-starter with a passion for working with students in a team environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Articulate, professional demeanor with strong self-confidence and initiative
• Prominent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Responsiveness; follow-up and follow-through with students, families, and faculty members is essential
• Complies with drug-free workplace rules and board policies
• Mets all mandated health and background screening requirements including FBI/BCI checks

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Checks with the teacher for instructions
• Works with small groups and/or individual students
• Helps students with remedial and/or enrichment activities
• Reinforces instructional materials introduced by the teacher
• Helps maintain a positive learning environment
• Offers help when students ask or their behavior suggests they need assistance
• Respects and maintains the confidentiality of student information
• Maintains high standards and upholds the student conduct code and handbook
• Enforces and maintains proper classroom rules for discipline and management
• Work collaboratively and effectively with staff, students, and parents, and form positive relationships with students to promote student success and support
• Assumes any other responsibilities as assigned by the Board of Education, Superintendent, or Administration
• Promotes a favorable image of Springfield-Clark CTC school district
• Assumes any other responsibilities as assigned by the Board, Superintendent, or Administration
