About the role

The University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center (UWCCC) seeks an Education Specialist to join our team. This role serves as a key partner in designing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating educational programs that engage learners from K-12 through undergraduate and advanced trainee levels.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and develops engaging, effective learning experiences which may be face-to-face, blended, and/or online
  • Develops, coordinates, and manages faculty development and engagement programs and activities
  • Designs, develops, or recommends multimedia learning materials
  • Facilitates communications with multimedia service providers to ensure instructional needs are met
  • Collaborates with faculty, scientists, educators, and institutional partners on meaningful program administration and learning experiences
  • Tracks participant outcomes, assesses program effectiveness, and drives continuous program improvement
  • Collaborates with fellow Education Specialists to support mentoring initiatives, faculty development programs, and trainee-focused educational activities

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of professional experience in learning and development, training, teaching, instructional design, program development/management, and/or adult learning methodologies
  • Experience planning, coordinating, and managing multiple projects, programs, or events simultaneously
  • Experience developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, community partners, or external organizations
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information to a variety of audiences
  • Proficiency with common office and collaboration technologies (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, Teams, databases, or similar tools)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Certification in an educational or training-related field/program preferred

Skills

Knowledge of best practices related to learner engagement, instructional design, mentoring, or workforce development.

Pay

The expected salary range for this position is $65,000 up to $80,000 for highly experienced candidates and actual pay within this range will depend on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.
