About the role

The Adler Planetarium is seeking a Part-Time Education Specialist to join its dynamic team on Chicago's Museum Campus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, informal learning experiences to museum visitors of all ages daily.
• Engage Adler audiences on the floor, in museum galleries, and in educational spaces.
• Facilitate onsite activities for adults, families, and students.
• Provide positive guest-facing interactions.
• Collect participation data, log successes and challenges, and provide input regarding visitor feedback and experiences to the wider department.
• Prepare for educational programs and maintain organized learning spaces (e.g., set up/breakdown of activities, restocking spaces, reporting supply needs).
• Take an active role in team discussions and participate in training sessions to build and maintain facilitation skills and expand content knowledge.
• Participate in ongoing professional learning and training on existing and new Adler activities and engagement strategies.
• Participate in activity testing, visitor testing/observations, and support iterative program development.
