Education Partnership Specialist

About the role

The Education Partnership Specialist is a B2B inside sales role responsible for developing new business and expanding partnerships across K-12 education solutions. This position focuses on two of K12 Coalition’s product lines: Teaching Channel, which provides professional learning courses and a video-based professional learning platform, and Passage Preparation, which provides teacher certification test preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline for Teaching Channel and Passage Preparation through independent research, targeted outreach, cross-selling, existing customer relationships, networking, and creative lead generation strategies.
  • Conduct all phases of the sales cycle, from prospecting and discovery through product demonstrations, proposals and pricing, negotiation, and close, using phone, email, live chat, virtual meetings, and other outreach methods.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales revenue targets across assigned product lines.
  • Identify new opportunities within assigned markets and think creatively about how to reach prospective customers and move opportunities forward.
  • Build relationships with decision-makers, educators, and other stakeholders at prospective and existing K-12 customers.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of Teaching Channel and Passage Preparation products, capabilities, and customer needs.
  • Lead engaging product demonstrations that connect our solutions to the needs and priorities of prospective customers.
  • Ask thoughtful questions and adapt demonstrations and sales conversations in real time based on the customer, rather than relying on a scripted approach.
  • Stay informed about the K-12 education landscape, professional learning and teacher certification markets, relevant trends, and competitive offerings.
  • Share customer and market insights with internal stakeholders to help inform sales strategy.
  • Maintain accurate and timely sales activity, opportunity information, customer records, and next steps within applicable CRM systems.
  • Create ongoing sales forecasts and provide leadership with accurate and timely information about pipeline activity and opportunities.
  • Independently evaluate opportunities, identify barriers, and determine appropriate next steps to keep the sales process moving.
  • Manage multiple opportunities across both product lines while maintaining consistent follow-through.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for prospective customers, providing responsive, professional, and efficient service throughout the sales process.
  • Partner with Engagement Managers and other internal teams to support successful transitions from new sales to ongoing customer relationships.
  • Collaborate across Teaching Channel, Passage Preparation, Sales, and other internal teams to bring in the right expertise and support customer needs.
  • Support the team with additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to help meet evolving organizational goals and objectives.

Qualifications

  • General Bachelor’s degree.
  • Ability to work autonomously, set priorities, and maintain a robust and effective calendar.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, issues, and deadlines.
  • Ability to leverage a team-based approach and bring in team experts to help close a sale.
  • Experience with Salesforce, HubSpot, and Google Workspace.
  • 5+ years of experience working within the K-12 education space.
  • Strong understanding of the K-12 education landscape, including the needs, priorities, and decision-making processes of schools and districts.
  • Experience within the professional development, teacher certification, or related education space preferred.
  • Demonstrated B2B sales experience, including prospecting, leading sales meetings, product demonstrations, and closing.
  • Experience selling products or services within the K-12 education market.
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding new sales targets.
  • Experience managing and selling multiple product lines.
  • Ability to independently prospect and generate new business opportunities.
  • Ability to take a consultative approach to sales, confidently leading product demonstrations and adapting the conversation based on customer needs and questions.

Compensation Philosophy

New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the band minimum and midpoint, based on their qualifications, location, internal alignment, and the budgeted amount for the role.
