Education Director - Elementary/Middle School

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and supervise the educational programs, including supervising instructional teams
• Oversight of implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Development of student schedules
• Supporting students, staff, and families
• Ensuring compliance with Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) requirements

Requirements

• Required Experience for the Education Director:
• Experienced educator who understands the needs of early childhood school students and is knowledgeable about curriculum for this grade level
• Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and collaboration with the school community
• Ability to enhance teaching and learning through curriculum assessment and strategic planning for all learners
• MUST hold a valid professional certificate/license as a special education supervisor or special education principal, or a valid professional teaching certificate or license in special education
• A master's degree in special education
• MSDE special educator licensure required
• Experience working in a setting focused on language-based learning disabilities for students in grades preschool-grade 3
