Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and supervise the educational programs, including supervising instructional teams
- Oversight of implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Development of student schedules
- Supporting students, staff, and families
- Ensuring compliance with Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) requirements
Requirements
- Required Experience for the Education Director:
- Experienced educator who understands the needs of early childhood school students and is knowledgeable about curriculum for this grade level
- Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and collaboration with the school community
- Ability to enhance teaching and learning through curriculum assessment and strategic planning for all learners
- MUST hold a valid professional certificate/license as a special education supervisor or special education principal, or a valid professional teaching certificate or license in special education
- A master's degree in special education
- MSDE special educator licensure required
- Experience working in a setting focused on language-based learning disabilities for students in grades preschool-grade 3
