Education and Outreach Specialist

About the role

The Education and Outreach Specialist serves as a bridge between community members and providers through outreach and education across the southern Trillium counties on the East coast of North Carolina. The role includes attending community events that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, and requires flexibility to accommodate these events outside of standard business hours. This is a community-based position and candidates must reside in Bladen County. Candidates must also be comfortable traveling to the following Trillium counties: Jones, Onslow, Pender, New Hanover, Brunswick, Bladen, or Columbus.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the team by attending community events that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Connect individuals to vital resources through outreach and education.
• Advocate for and promote wellness through community education and engagement.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Maintain valid NC driver’s license and auto insurance for personal and agency vehicles utilized for work.

Qualifications

• Experience with the unhomed population and/or community-based experience preferred.

Skills

• Working relationships with community referrals.
• Ability to manage multiple projects.
• Great attention to detail.
