About the role
This position supports newly arrived youth and young adults in achieving their personal, educational, and career goals. It reports to the Youth Programs Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Aid in planning, coordinating, and leading activities like after-school sessions, workshops, tutoring, and job shadowing.
- Document attendance and program information.
- Provide transportation to participants for group activities.
- Assess family and youth needs and assist with orientations, intakes, and school enrollments.
- Recruit and screen potential mentors and facilitate matches with youth.
- Provide follow-up support to clients and mentors.
- Research and provide career pathway information.
- Enroll participants in preschool, GED, training programs, and enrichment activities.
- Participate in all program meetings and development activities.
- Assist Youth Program staff with data entry and scheduling meetings.
Requirements
- Demonstrated interest in education, youth work, or social work.
- Strong communication skills, fluency in English, and bilingual ability in a local language preferred.
- Experience working in a multicultural environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- US citizenship or legal permanent resident status.
- At least 18 years old.
- High school graduate or equivalent, working towards a diploma or GED.
- Complete a National Service Criminal History check.
Compensation
(Pay Rate: $25,200/yr)
