Adult Education - ReR - AmeriCorps

About the role

The Adult Education AmeriCorps Member supports programming designed to accompany clients as they work towards their educational, economic, financial, and vocational goals. This role provides logistical support to the Newcomer Education Program, which includes in-person, group services that offer skill-development, education, and community building opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Provide registration and logistical support for in-person educational initiatives
• Develop partnerships in the community that would provide support for educational programming
• Ensure language access for programming
• Communicate with program participants and volunteers
• Weekly check-ins with program director
• Opportunities for teaching if the applicant has expertise in topics such as sewing, job readiness, or personal finance

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR) authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must commit to one full term of service
• Must be high school graduate, GED recipient, or working toward attaining a high school diploma / GED during their term of service
• Must complete a National Service Criminal History check

• Confident when presenting in front of individuals and large groups
• Proficiency working across different systems such as G-Suite, Office 365, Squarespace, volunteer database
• Strong project management and event planning skills

• Ability to connect with others and forge strong relationships
• Ability to work independently as well as on a team

Compensation

(Pay Rate: $25,200). Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
