About the role

Nissha Medical Technologies – New Richmond is home to the Isometric Micro Molding Center of Excellence. This campus brings together deep expertise in micro molding, precision tooling, and micro automated assembly to support devices where precision, reliability, and miniaturization truly matter. The New Richmond team plays a critical role in helping customers turn complex ideas into scalable, manufacturable solutions for applications such as drug delivery, surgical robotics, diagnostics, and minimally invasive devices.

Essential Job Functions

  • Analyze CAD models, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine EDM machining approach with minimal supervision.
  • Setup, program, and operate inker EDM machines to achieve +/- .0001 accuracy with minimal supervision.

  • Monitor machining processes and adjust to maintain tolerances and surface finish requirements.
  • Have moderate knowledge of tool design and understanding of fit and function of mold components.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing groups, team development and strategy.
  • Work side by side with EDM Sinker Specialist III, collaborating with CNC, Toolmakers, and Polishing teams to ensure component readiness and accuracy.
  • Work side by side with EDM Sinker Specialist III, collaborating and coordinating with designers, electrode designer, and management on EDM and tooling approach.
  • Provide feedback on design for manufacturability and EDM feasibility.
  • Troubleshoot, maintenance & optimization.
  • Diagnose and resolve EDM machining issues, including burn inconsistencies, electrode wear, and dimensional deviations with minimal supervision.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and ensure equipment is operating efficiently.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance cycle time and quality with direction and collaboration from EDM Sinker Specialist III.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • A degree in machining, manufacturing technology, or related discipline, or
  • a minimum of 3-5 years of sinker EDM experience.
  • Superior expertise in sinker EDM setup, programming, and operation.
  • Experience achieving tight tolerances.
  • Strong understanding of EDM principles, electrode materials, and burn strategies.
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading and GD&T.
  • Experience with CAD software (Creo, Edrawings, Solidworks) preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving capability and mechanical aptitude.
  • Extremely high attention to detail.
  • High ethical standards aligned with Isometric Core Values.
  • Ability to handle confidential and proprietary information appropriately.

Certificates, Licenses & Registrations

  • EDM or Tool & Die related certification preferred.
  • Completion of apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on experience is strongly preferred.
