About the role

The EDGAR (Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval) Specialist is an experienced position delivering exceptional customer service by providing timely and accurate EDGAR work of an intermediate to advanced level. This role involves converting word processing documents into EDGAR-compliant documents and submitting them to the Securities Exchange Commission. The Specialist assesses EDGAR documents to detect and ensure proper corrections, trains team members, and coordinates day-to-day workflow within a shift or site.

Responsibilities

  • Converts Word, Excel, PPT, and PDF documents to EDGAR-compliant format for filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission EDGAR System.
  • Communicates SEC compliance requirements and filing deadlines to requestors effectively.
  • Utilizes appropriate logs for all office services work.
  • Evaluates personnel performance with the Account Manager and assists in the development and improvement of individual and team skills.
  • Performs work and intake functions according to established procedures, demonstrating professional expectations for team members.
  • Develops and delivers ongoing training for new and existing team members in existing processes.
  • Facilitates focus and coordination on and between shifts to meet or exceed client expectations for quality, timeliness, and service.
  • Coordinates with the team to ensure client filings are executed timely and accurately.
  • Proactively reaches out to requestors to address any needs that arise.
  • Quickly identifies submission types and necessary submission information changes.
  • Works closely with the Manager/Team to determine priorities and workflow.
  • Prioritizes work requests across the team and coordinates/balances multiple projects, especially with escalated deadlines or issues.
  • Ensures job tickets are properly filled out before beginning work.
  • Follows procedures to run jobs in proper order.
  • Communicates with supervisor or client on job or deadline issues.
  • Meets contracted deadlines for accepting, completing, and delivering all work.
  • Troubleshoots basic equipment problems and lifts up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Intakes work requests from the client, including clarification of job instructions and negotiation of deadlines.
  • Seeks alternate solutions to deadline requests as needed.
  • Prioritizes workflow and performs quality assurance on own work and the work of others.
  • Loads machines with paper, toner, and supplies.
  • Answers telephone, emails, and places service calls when needed.
  • Interacts with clients in person, over the phone, or electronically.
  • Adheres to company and client site policies.
  • Uses equipment and supplies in a cost-efficient manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with concentration in Economics, Accounting, or Computer Science. Commensurate experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • Minimum 3 years of EDGAR experience required, including knowledge of GoFiler Pro Software, manually coding HTML, and searching the SEC EDGAR system for filings.
  • Advanced software aptitude in programs used for EDGAR Operations, with speed and accuracy in a high-volume, high-pressure production environment.
  • Strong skills in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and HTML.
  • Proven customer service skills to create, maintain, and enhance customer relationships.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including professional telephone and email etiquette.
  • Attention to detail with good organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential documents and information.
  • Able to make independent decisions that conform to business needs and policy.
  • Good problem-solving skills, with the ability to escalate problems when necessary.
  • Must work well in a team environment and interact effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with a positive can-do attitude.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $32.93 - $51.39 per hour. Starting pay decisions are determined based on multiple factors including relevant education, qualifications, skills, experience, certifications, proficiency, performance, shift, location, and other business needs.
