Other Duties

Performs other duties as assigned.

COVID-19 Compliance

• Fulfills CDC isolation guidelines
• Demonstrates appropriate use of PPE
• Performs hand hygiene according to policy
• Enforces safety regulations

Hourly Rounding

• Keeps patients informed
• Ensures patients have call bells, pillows, blankets as needed
• Ensures caregiver names are on the boards
• Initiates oxygen therapy as directed
• Transports unmonitored patients to inpatient departments and stable monitored patients to PCU/med-tele
• Accompanies registered nurse to transport patients to specialty units

Assisting Physicians and Nurses

• Assists with procedures and exams
• Setup and cleanup for sutures, pelvic exams, lumbar punctures, and application of orthopedic splints and casting
• Applies slings, sling-n-swathe, finger splints, and dressings

Customer Service

• Keeps patients informed
• Provides updates
• Apologizes for waits
• Demonstrates caring and compassion
• Advocates for pain management
• Ensures patients can get help at any time

EKG Testing

• Attaches and completes 12 lead EKG tests before providing the strip to the physician on duty
