ED Tech - Emergency Department

About the Role

The Emergency Department Technician provides delegated patient care activities across all age groups with acute and chronic health issues. This role focuses on delivering compassionate, safe, and efficient patient care while supporting departmental operations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Performing diagnostic tests, lab specimen collection, and bedside testing
• Monitoring patient vital signs and documenting observations
• Assisting with patient mobility, nutrition, and elimination procedures
• Supporting infection control, safety protocols, and inventory management
• Participating in unit activities, adhering to policies, and promoting a positive work environment
• Maintaining a safe environment and ensuring patient safety through proper equipment use and environmental upkeep
• Assisting with procedures, phlebotomy, patient transport, and ECG recordings

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire; CPI training within 3 months
• Experience in hospital settings

Skills

• Knowledge of medical equipment, infection control, and patient safety protocols
• Ability to perform procedures like Foley catheter insertion, ECG, and lab specimen collection
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
