About the Role

Baptist Health is the largest healthcare system serving central Alabama, providing comprehensive hospital-based and outpatient services to nearly 60 percent of the residents in Montgomery, Autauga, and Elmore counties.

The Advanced Nursing Extern will provide patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Duties and responsibilities are limited to those within the scope of practice of unlicensed health care providers acting under the direction of a licensed nurse as per the Alabama Board of Nursing. This role supports the Nursing department with selected technical skills, data collection, and lab specimen collection. Additional duties within the role's scope may be assigned.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Perform selected technical skills, data collection, and lab specimen collection.
• Support the Nursing department as needed within the scope of the role.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
• Must have completed a minimum of Fundamentals of Nursing Care, Pharmacology, and Medication Administration in Nursing School.
• BLS certification required.

Schedule

First Shift (Regular Full-time)
