Location: The Salvation Army Kroc Center (SAKC), Philadelphia, PA

Schedule: Part-time Plus (up to 29 hours per week), 3:30 PM – 7:30 PM

Reporting to: Education Director

Salary: $16.50 – $17.00 per hour (Non-Exempt, Grade 74)

About the role

The Educator I will assist with the development of the Sunoco Foundation Learning Center After School Program initiatives. This position will tutor program participants, introduce new academic concepts, and act as a role model for students while demonstrating effective classroom management in the Kroc Homework Zone.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality instruction consistently.
• Multi-task and circulate between multiple students on varying grade levels.
• Innovate teaching approaches to introduce new academic concepts in Science, Math, and computer literacy.
• Maintain effective classroom management in the Kroc Homework Zone.
• Uphold high achievement standards for all students.

Requirements

• High School Diploma (College Degree preferred).
• Minimum of two years working with children, preferably in an urban community, with demonstrated success in educating students.
• Resilient, persistent, collaborative, and professional demeanor.
• Positive, high-energy attitude and a drive for excellence.
• Strong sense of personal accountability.
• Proven ability to multi-task and manage varying grade levels.

• Completion of PA Act 153 clearances: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check.
