The Role

The European Cancer Organisation (ECO) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Finance Officer to join our Brussels-based team. This full-time role involves working closely with leadership to manage financial operations, ensuring compliance with EU regulations, and contributing to impactful public health initiatives across Europe.

Responsibilities

• Manage financial operations in accordance with EU regulations
• Ensure compliance with EU financial regulations
• Contribute to the strategic direction of ECO’s financial planning and reporting
• Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement financial strategies
• Support the development and maintenance of financial systems and processes
• Provide financial analysis and advice to support decision-making
• Prepare and present financial reports to senior management

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• At least 7 years of relevant finance experience, preferably in a regulated environment
• Proven experience in managing financial operations and regulatory compliance
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex financial data
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

Qualifications

• Experience in EU financial regulations and compliance
• Knowledge of public health policies and initiatives
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Fluency in English, with proficiency in another EU language preferred
