ECMO Specialist

Role Overview

The ECMO specialist develops and implements treatment plans for ECMO patients, collaborating with healthcare teams to assess, interpret, and adjust care strategies. They communicate closely with physicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in patient assessment, planning, and education related to ECMO therapy.
  • Communicate effectively with medical staff to interpret patient data and modify treatment as necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree and completion of ECMO-specific training or formal education in Extracorporeal Circulation.
  • Valid nursing license, respiratory therapist license, or perfusion license, with appropriate certifications (BLS, ACLS).
  • Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of ECMO equipment, procedures, and patient management.
