ECMO Specialist

About the Role

The ECMO specialist develops and implements treatment plans for patients requiring extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), collaborating with healthcare team members to interpret and adjust care strategies. They participate in assessment, education, and communication to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Participate in developing patient treatment plans involving assessment, implementation, and education
• Communicate with physicians and healthcare team to interpret and adjust ECMO care

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
• Completion of specialized ECMO training or formal education in Extra Corporeal Circulation
• Licenses: Registered Nursing License, RRT, or Certified Perfusion License
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS through the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience
