Echocardiography Technologist II - PRN - DCMC

About the role

Echocardiography Technologist II performs echocardiographic procedures to measure, calculate, and report pertinent patient data, facilitating accurate diagnostic outcomes. Leadership will determine echocardiography experience level upon hiring.

Responsibilities

• Conducts echocardiograms throughout the Medical Center, including patient rooms and emergency rooms.
• Explains procedures to patients, provides instructions, and ensures patient comfort during care.
• Recognizes artifacts, troubleshoots minor equipment issues, and maintains quality work.
• Processes images from different modalities according to established policies and procedures.
• Performs data entry related to procedures, including charges, pick lists, logbooks, and schedule functions.
• Ensures radiation safety and complies with department standards for RVUs.
• Collects and analyzes pertinent clinical data for accurate reporting.
• Provides care to patients and families in a developmentally, culturally, and ethically appropriate manner.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent with specialized training in echocardiography.
• Ability to perform, measure, and interpret echocardiographic studies.
• Three (3) years’ experience in echocardiography, including adult and pediatric echocardiograms, TEE’s, and stress echocardiograms.
• Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS CPR certification or must obtain within 90 days from date of hire.
• Registered Echo Sonographer (RCVT, RDCS, or RDCF) with the ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) with CCI.
