About the role
Echocardiography Technologist II performs echocardiographic procedures to measure, calculate, and report pertinent patient data, facilitating accurate diagnostic outcomes. Leadership will determine echocardiography experience level upon hiring.
Responsibilities
- Conducts echocardiograms throughout the Medical Center, including patient rooms and emergency rooms.
- Explains procedures to patients, provides instructions, and ensures patient comfort during care.
- Recognizes artifacts, troubleshoots minor equipment issues, and maintains quality work.
- Processes images from different modalities according to established policies and procedures.
- Performs data entry related to procedures, including charges, pick lists, logbooks, and schedule functions.
- Ensures radiation safety and complies with department standards for RVUs.
- Collects and analyzes pertinent clinical data for accurate reporting.
- Provides care to patients and families in a developmentally, culturally, and ethically appropriate manner.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent with specialized training in echocardiography.
- Ability to perform, measure, and interpret echocardiographic studies.
- Three (3) years’ experience in echocardiography, including adult and pediatric echocardiograms, TEE’s, and stress echocardiograms.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS CPR certification or must obtain within 90 days from date of hire.
- Registered Echo Sonographer (RCVT, RDCS, or RDCF) with the ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) with CCI.
