Job Duties
- Evaluates images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality and verifies archival storage and/or transfer of data, post processing of data if applicable.
- Educating and monitoring students and other health care providers.
- Ensures correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for exam, and that clinical history is corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting confidentiality.
- Preparing and/or administering ultrasound enhancing agents through new or existing vascular access site in accordance with ASE guidelines for appropriate use.
- Communicates abnormal and unexpected findings with the provider to prioritize the need for additional testing or urgency of care with the licensed provider.
- Collaborating with a licensed practitioner in the performance of sonographic interventional procedures.
- Ensuring equipment parameters for diagnostic, interventional procedures are of optimal technical and administrative quality as requested by a licensed practitioner.
- Performing diagnostic, interventional imaging sonographic procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner or during appropriate educational activities.
Qualifications
- The following certifications required upon hire:
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) as a sonographer or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) certification and
- Adult Echocardiography: ARDMS (AE) or CCI credential.
Work Experience
- Minimum of 2 years-Related work experience (Required)
Education
- Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Related Field of Study (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree-Related Field of Study (Preferred)
