Echocardiograph Technologist
About the role
The Technologist, under the direction of a Cardiologist, performs echocardiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision as well as other duties as assigned. This requires independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply non-ionizing high frequency ultrasonic waves for a cardiographic diagnosis, whether scheduled or emergent.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the clinical activities, including call, within the imaging areas of Echocardiography, Surgery, Mobile Unit and Nursing Units.
Requirements
- Coursework/Training and must have successfully completed a formal training program or equivalent in Echocardiography and demonstrate ability to complete competency in Echocardiography.
- Within 1 year of hire: National Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography
- Or Within 1 year of hire: National Certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International
- Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
