Job Summary

Echocardiograph Technologist (Full-Time, Day Shift), Sign-On Bonus ($6000)

Responsibilities

  • Perform cardiac ultrasound examinations as per physician's orders using complex ultrasound equipment.
  • Identify the presence or absence of disease with a thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
  • Absorb and assist physicians with invasive echocardiography exams including transesophageal echo, trans-catheter echo-guided procedures, pericardiocentesis, myocardial biopsies, contrast-enhanced exams, and stress echocardiography.
  • Modify procedures to meet special circumstances or provide useful clinical information cost-effectively.
  • Comply with standards set by the American Society of Echocardiography and departmental policies.
  • Share coverage responsibility for emergency stand-by and call-back studies during evenings and weekends.
  • May provide shared regional coverage or rotate through staffed weekend shifts.

Requirements

  • Oregon Sonographer certification upon hire.
  • National Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or National Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (Client) certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer from ARDMS upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Applied Science from a CAAHEP-accredited school in Noninvasive Cardiovascular Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
  • At least 1 year of cardiovascular ultrasound experience or minimum 800 exams using all imaging modalities.
  • Experience with pediatric echocardiography.
  • Familiarity with imaging support for advanced heart failure patients using mechanical support devices.
  • Experience with echo-guided trans-catheter procedures.
