ECE Paraeducator (EHS) - 7 hrs/day (Morey Ave)

Position Summary

Assists one or more Early Childhood teachers in the education, care, supervision, and instruction of pre-school aged children, in classrooms, common areas, and playgrounds at a center dedicated to pre-kindergarten children, and in the community. Maintains and prepares classroom and related environments, materials, and control of forms. Assists in developing play-oriented curriculum.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent and a California Associate Teacher Permit (Referred by Federal head Start as “Child Development Associate Credential”) or Associate Degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Certificate or permit required as defined in the Child Development Permit Matrix established through the California Department of Education.
• CPR/First Aid certificate with pediatric endorsement.
• Education and experience requirements for ECE Paraeducator positions under the Federal Head Start Program.

Qualifications

• Certification (California Associate Teacher Permit or AA Degree or Higher)
• CPR/First Aid Certification (With pediatric endorsement)
• NCLB Compliance (48 college units (semester) or pass the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam)
• Proof of HS Graduation (High School Diploma, High School Transcripts or Equivalent (ex: GED))

Pay

$19.61 - $25.94 per hour in 9 annual steps. Salary placement is based on relevant experience.
