About the role
The Waukesha County Park System is seeking a Head Ice Arena Attendant to join their dedicated and innovative team. This position offers opportunities to use and grow skills, improve the community, and thrive on unique challenges.
Responsibilities
- Supervises part-time staff.
- Operates ice equipment.
- Affords assistance in running "Learn to Skate."
- Monitors ice skaters (on the ice, while skating), ensuring safe activity.
- Operates POS cash register and adheres to cash handling policies.
- Opens and closes the facility.
- Provides great customer service.
- Interacts with customers and coworkers in a pleasant and professional manner.
- Maintains safe working conditions and sanitary work area.
- Performs basic cleaning (sweeping, mopping, and trash removal).
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Completed 8th grade education.
- Valid driver's license.
- Some recent supervisory work experience.
- Some recent cash handling and customer service work experience.
Qualifications
- Ability to skate.
- Ability to provide, and follow, oral and written instructions.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, including providing excellent customer service.
- Ability to safely operate equipment necessary to perform the duties of the position.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working and public relations with co-workers, supervisors, and the public.
- Ability to effectively interact with sensitivity with persons from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial, ethnic, and professional backgrounds, and persons of all ages and lifestyles.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push/pull, and lift up to 10-20 lbs. on an occasional basis.
Skills
- Preferred operation of ice equipment.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $14.15 - $19.70 per hour.
Schedule
This position is intended to work year around, 10-15 hours per week. Must be able to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.
