Earthwork and Paving Laborer (Base Access Required)

About the role

Supports grading, excavation, aggregate base placement, site preparation, and small paving projects on military installations and secure project locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with grading, excavation, and site preparation activities.
• Place, spread, and compact aggregate base materials.
• Support roadway, parking lot, and small paving projects.
• Assist with asphalt placement, raking, and finishing activities.
• Install erosion control and dust control measures.
• Assist with traffic control and work zone setup.
• Support survey and grade control activities as directed.
• Follow military installation security requirements.
• Maintain eligibility for military base access.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain military installation access.
• Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
• Ability to perform physically demanding labor in outdoor environments.
• Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment.
• Ability to work safely around heavy construction equipment.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attendance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous earthwork, grading, paving, or construction experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times.
• Must be able to stand, walk, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
• Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, dust, and loud machinery.
• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Pay

Pay rates vary by project. The standard starting pay rate for laborer positions is $17.00 per hour. Certain projects are subject to Davis-Bacon prevailing wage requirements and may pay substantially more than the company's standard base rate. Employees working on these projects will be compensated according to the applicable wage determination and classification.
