EARN AS YOU LEARN! CNA Apprentice - Biddeford
Under the supervision and direction of the Certified Nursing Assistant Program Instructor and/or Clinical Supervisor, Certified Nursing Assistant Preceptors, and/or long-term care facility’s Charge Nurses, the Apprentice - Certified Nursing Assistant role provides direct care to assigned residents/patients.
Responsibilities
- Lecture, hands-on skills lab and on-site clinical training at the local hospital and/or nursing home.
- Work a minimum of 24-hours per week, including day, evening, night, and weekend shifts.
- Direct care to assigned residents/patients under the supervision of certified nursing assistants and/or clinical supervisors.
Requirements
- Accepted into an approved Certified Nursing Assistant Program.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
- Pass the Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment System (CASAS) exam with a score of 239 higher, or complete two semesters of college level English with a B- or higher, or a minimum of an associate's degree.
- Willingness to work day, evening, night, and weekend shifts based on open positions at MaineHealth.

Program is 4-5 days a week for 6 weeks. Lecture, hands-on skills lab and on-site clinical training at the local hospital and/or nursing home. Weeks 1-3: 32 hours per week Weeks 4-5: 40 hours per week Week 6: 32 hours per week
Post graduation you will be directly placed into a position to work a one-year commitment at one of our MaineHealth facilities. You will be working a minimum of 24-hours per week.
