About the role

The role of the Early Years / Childcare Skills Coach is to teach, coach and support the development and progression of our learners on apprenticeship programs. The coach ensures the delivery of apprenticeship standards knowledge, skills and behaviors or framework components throughout the learner journey through a quality process. The coach also teaches and supports learners in work-based settings using a blended learning approach.

Responsibilities

  • Teach, coach, and support learners within work-based settings.
  • Deliver effective and engaging training sessions.
  • Conduct regular teaching and learning visits to ensure continuous development, progression, and achievement of learners.
  • Support and deliver English, Maths, and ICT functional skills at level 2 throughout the learner's journey.
  • Complete the required number of visits and reviews for each apprentice, meeting all stakeholders' requirements of quality and funding.
  • Engage the learner's line manager to provide adequate support and guidance needed by the learner as outlined on the learner journey.
  • Coach learners to collect the required evidence during training sessions, ensuring progression for their apprenticeship and achieving necessary milestones.
  • Maintain learners' welfare on a regular basis, taking necessary action to limit early leavers from the program and maintaining agreed caseload levels.
  • Carry out enrichment activities with learners around Prevent, Safeguarding, and British Values.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • Level 3 AET & CAVA qualifications.
  • Experience in childcare and early years.
  • Able to drive and have a valid driving license.

Qualifications

Candidates are not required to have Level 3 AET & CAVA qualifications but must be willing to undertake the qualifications as part of the onboarding process.

Skills

Essential skills for this role include:

  • Strong communication and coaching skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit different learners.
  • Knowledge of apprenticeship standards and frameworks.
  • Experience working in a child care setting.

Pay

The salary range for this role is £28k – £34k per annum.

Schedule

The role is permanent and full-time, with travel to meet learners at nurseries around the North West.
