Nature Of Work
An Early Intervention Service Coordinator provides intake and ongoing assessments of infants and toddlers (0 to 3 years of age) eligible for Early Intervention Services under California Early Start program mandates. They assist eligible children and their families with the coordination of other resources, development of an Individualized Family Service Plan, and participation in periodic reviews of the IFSP every six months or more frequently if conditions warrant. They also take an active role in transition services for toddlers. They provide service coordination to help families access necessary services to enhance the child's development and the family's ability to meet the child's needs. They may participate in educational and prevention outreach activities and serve as a liaison to other community organizations working with populations at high risk for developmental disabilities.
Requirements
- Bilingual: English/Spanish required.
- MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Must have a master’s degree in social work or a related field from an accredited university; be a credentialed Speech Pathologist or Nurse with a PHN or PNP certification and three years of experience in working with children in early intervention agencies and resources.
- OR A bachelor’s degree and two years’ experience in a professional position at NBRC or another California Regional Center with child case carrying responsibility can be substituted for the above.
- Knowledge of early childhood development.
- Special Requirements:
- Ability to provide transportation during working hours and after-hours emergencies or access to another form of reliable transportation which meets requirements.
- Ability to provide minimum legal automobile liability insurance.
- Flexibility in work hours is required to meet the needs of the regional center constituency.
Bilingual Language Differential
For those speaking, reading and writing other than English – $225 per month
For those speaking a language other than English – $150 per month
For those using American Sign language – $200 per month
