About the Role

The ELCD program at OHU is known for its closely-knit teams who often work together for years at a time! Team members share a love of educating young children, creating a warm and positive working environment. New employees who come from a corporate environment quickly fall in love with the atmosphere at an OHU child development center.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a nurturing setting for our infants and toddlers (and their parents).
  • Engage your skills and imagination in creating learning centers that are attractive and exciting to our children.
  • Partner with co-teachers to develop and implement best practices.
  • Create a warm and welcoming environment.
  • Encourage our preschoolers to engage, discover, and learn to solve problems.
  • Collaborate in an ongoing fashion with parents and families.
  • Work as a team with the Lead Teacher in the infant and toddler classrooms to implement day-to-day activities.

Requirements

One of the following education requirements:

  • CDA (Child Development Associate).
  • Two courses in Infant/Toddler Child Development (OHU will assist in obtaining these if needed).
  • Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education and/or Gateways level 2 preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years of professional experience working with children in a classroom setting preferred.
