Early Head Start Teacher (Infant/Toddler)

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a curriculum consistent with current NAEYC accreditation practices.
• Design and maintain a classroom environment that meets Head Start Performance Standards, NAEYC Accreditation, and NH State Childcare Licensing regulations.
• Engage in adult-child interactions that are responsive, supportive, and respectful of children’s needs, development, and play interests.
• Complete administrative responsibilities such as reporting on development benchmarks for children, completing screening tools, and documenting curriculum plans.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent credential.
• Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential for Infant/Toddler Caregivers, or equivalent credential (must include infant/toddler child growth and development coursework or equivalent according to NH State Childcare Licensing).
• Previous experience working in an early childhood classroom with supervisory duties preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate with infants, toddlers, and their families, and relate comfortably to income-eligible families.
• Attention to detail, confidentiality, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive workplace and early childhood classroom experience.
• Successful completion of criminal record check and CPR/First Aid certification.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required for occasional travel between program locations.

Pay

$20.59 - $26.06 per hour, based on level of education and relative work experience.

Schedule

Full Time, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.
