Duties
- Literacy lesson planning and assessment
- Maintaining required paperwork
- Maintaining learning environment in compliance with accreditation and licensing standards
- Managing children’s behaviors through positive guidance that is developmentally appropriate
- Collaborating with teachers throughout the facility
- Facilitating learning through curriculum, including nature experiences
- Mentoring UWEC and CVTC student assistants, practicum students, interns, and other adult learners
- Communicating with families, staff, and administration
- Serving as a teacher in various classrooms for a limited period; summer, substitute teaching when necessary, teaching on days when 4K is not in session
Key Job Responsibilities
- Assists with the planning and facilitation of classroom programming and classroom coordination and organization for a early childhood education facility according to established curriculums
- Maintains the safety and physical well-being of children in a designated classroom
- Updates and organizes individualized and developmental educational plans for children
- Aids in basic technical and administrative classroom support
- Documents effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to relay pertinent information and provide updates of child activities per established guidelines and regulations
Required Qualifications
- Entry level coursework required by the Department of Children and Families
- 6 months of experiences working with young children
- Ability to work with multiple personalities in a supportive role
- Flexibility to work with multiple age groups
Preferred Qualifications
- A bachelor’s or associate degree in Education or a related field from a regionally accredited institution
Pay
Salary commensurate with experience.
Schedule
Regular hours to be determined based on departmental needs.
