Early Career Leadership Development Program: Engineering Technology - Power Electronics
About the Program
This two-year rotational program consists of two unique 12-month assignments. It provides the opportunity to design intelligent power management solutions and build leadership aptitude and technical depth in critical strategic focus areas. The Power Electronics Track focuses on developing power electronics technology platforms and common hardware building blocks to create innovative solutions. Rotations will either support a specific business unit/product line or work with broader technologies across the enterprise. Strategic teams are working on cutting-edge technologies including MV Power Conversion, Solid State Circuit Protection, and Energy Intelligence. After completing the program, technical expertise combined with newly acquired business acumen prepares participants for larger challenges within the Engineering & Technology function, including technical or people leader opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Support product engineering projects driving innovation for Eaton's products
- Participate in two unique 12-month rotational assignments
- Build functional expertise and leadership capabilities through the LDP Core Learning Series
- Collaborate with senior leaders through mentorship programs
- Serve on LDP advisory boards to shape peer engagement, learning, and development
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in electrical or electronics engineering from an accredited institution with a graduation date before August 2026
- Minimum of one internship/co-op experience or an equivalent of 3 months of Power Electronics work experience completed at the time of application
- Must be geographically flexible to relocate within the United States

Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or community
- Two or more relevant internships or co-op experiences
- Power Electronics industry experience (Power Electronics Hardware/Control Design, and/or Power conversion; Model based design/electronic circuit design and simulation; Electrical testing, troubleshooting, & validation)
- Preferred Software exposure: RTDS, OPAL-RT, Typhoon, dSPACE, MatLAb
- Demonstrated exposure to machine learning or AI concepts through coursework, internships, research, or personal projects including experience using AI-assisted development tools, experience in prompt engineering, and working with generative AI models and simulation tools
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively explain technical concepts
- Demonstrate geographic flexibility to relocate within the United States throughout the duration and completion of the Development Program to an Eaton facility including (but not limited to): Raleigh, NC; Pittsburgh, PA; Milwaukee, WI; or Torrance, CA
Pay
The annual salary for this role is $95,000 a year. This position offers a one-time $15,000 signing bonus.
Schedule
This role may include travel (up to 25%) within a local region as determined by the Engineering & Technology Assignment Manager. Transportation to and from the worksite and for incidental business travel is the responsibility of the intern; however, expenses for required and approved business travel (not including the worksite) will be reimbursed.
