Early Career Internship Program: Engineering Technology - Power Electronics

Are you passionate for innovation and disruptive technology? Our Engineering and Technology Internship Program may be for you! Over the course of this 12-week paid internship, students will engage in projects that hold tangible significance for our business while receiving guidance and mentorship from Eaton's esteemed leaders.
The Early Career Internship Program: Engineering and Technology - Power Electronics track focuses on the development of power electronics technology platforms and common hardware building blocks to create innovative solutions. Assignments will either be supporting a specific business unit/product line or working with broader technologies across the enterprise. Our strategic teams in this area are working on cutting edge technologies including: Wide Band Gap and MV Power Conversion, Solid State Circuit Protection, and Energy Intelligence.
After completion of the internship program, your technical skills combined with your newly acquired business acumen will prepare you to be considered for Eaton's Engineering and Technology Development Programs upon graduation.
Responsibilities
- Support product engineering projects driving the next wave of innovation for Eaton's products
- Engage in projects that hold tangible significance for our business
- Receive guidance and mentorship from Eaton's esteemed leaders
- Participate in the Intern Core Learning Series
- Build functional expertise and leadership capabilities
- Collaborate with senior leaders through networking opportunities
- The summer internship culminates with a formal presentation where students showcase their success stories to leaders of the organization and receive feedback on their performance
Required qualifications
- Actively enrolled or received a master's degree in electrical or electronics engineering from an accredited institution
- Must be geographically flexible to relocate within the United States

Preferred qualifications
- Industry experience in Power Electronics including controls
- Prior internship or co-op experience (Power Electronics Hardware/Control Design, and/or Power conversion; Model based design/electronic circuit design and simulation; Electrical testing, troubleshooting, & validation)
- Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or community
- Demonstrated exposure to machine learning or AI concepts through coursework, internships, research, or personal projects including experience using AI-assisted development tools, experience in prompt engineering, and working with generative AI models and simulation tools
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively explain technical concepts
Pay
$34.62 per hour.
Schedule
12-week paid internship.
Travel
This role may include travel (up to 25%) within a local region as determined by the Engineering & Technology Assignment Manager. Transportation to and from the worksite and for incidental business travel is the responsibility of the intern; however, expenses for required and approved business travel (not including the worksite) will be reimbursed.
Location
Demonstrate geographic flexibility to relocate within the United States for the duration of the Internship Program to an Eaton facility including (but not limited to): Raleigh, NC; Pittsburgh, PA; Milwaukee, WI; or Torrance, CA.
