Are you passionate for innovation and disruptive technology? Our Engineering and Technology Internship Program may be for you! Over the course of this 12-week paid internship, students will engage in projects that hold tangible significance for our business while receiving guidance and mentorship from Eaton's esteemed leaders.
Responsibilities
- Support product engineering projects driving the next wave of innovation for Eaton’s products
- Develop power electronics technology platforms and common hardware building blocks to create innovative solutions
- Assignments will either be supporting a specific business unit/product line or working with broader technologies across the enterprise
- Work on cutting edge technologies including:
- Wide Band Gap and MV Power Conversion
- Solid State Circuit Protection
- Energy Intelligence
- Participate in cross-functional teams during the internship and the Intern Core Learning Series
- Collaborate with senior leaders through networking opportunities woven into the experience
- Culminate the summer internship with a formal presentation where students showcase their success stories to leaders of the organization and receive feedback on their performance
Qualifications
- Actively enrolled or received a master’s degree in electrical or electronics engineering from an accredited institution
- Geographically flexible to relocate within the United States
- Industry experience in Power Electronics including controls
- Prior internship or co-op experience (Power Electronics Hardware/Control Design, and/or Power conversion; Model based design/ electronic circuit design and simulation; Electrical testing, troubleshooting, & validation)
- Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or community
- Demonstrated exposure to machine learning or AI concepts through coursework, internships, research, or personal projects including experience using AI-assisted development tools, experience in prompt engineering, and working with generative AI models and simulation tools
Position Criteria
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively explain technical concepts
- May include travel (up to 25%) within a local region as determined by the Engineering & Technology Assignment Manager; transportation to and from the worksite and for incidental business travel is the responsibility of the intern; expenses for required and approved business travel (not including the worksite) will be reimbursed
- Demonstrate geographic flexibility to relocate within the United States for the duration of the Internship Program to an Eaton facility including (but not limited to): Raleigh, NC; Pittsburgh, PA; Milwaukee, WI; or Torrance, CA
Pay
$34.62 per hour
