E-Referral Vendor Optimization Lead

Location: Remote – US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

About the role

This role will manage sourcing and supplier priorities that improve value, reliability, and operational performance. You will partner with finance, operations, legal, and business stakeholders to negotiate effectively, manage vendors, and support better purchasing decisions. The position offers the opportunity to improve cost discipline, supplier performance, and the processes that support scalable execution within a healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert for complex electronic referral processes
• Lead teams in developing techniques for vendor management and referrals
• Provide independent judgment on priority setting for work groups
• Oversee compliance and efficiency of electronic referral systems
• Resolve bottlenecks and monitor referral queues for optimal performance
• Manage relationships with 90+ referral vendors as primary contact
• Develop standardized frameworks for vendor engagement and SLA negotiation
• Drive process improvements that impact multiple projects and functions

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
• 4+ years managing vendor relationships and contracts in a large organization
• 4+ years optimizing complex workflows in a large organization
• Experience with referral platforms and vendor management tools
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
• Ability to work independently and lead initiatives with minimal direction
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, influencing functional strategies
• Familiarity with Medicare guidelines and payer authorization processes

Pay

$104,000 – $143,000 annually
