On-siteEngineeringFull-time
Responsibilities
- Support the Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) team in the safe and effective operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of facility systems.
- Assist senior technicians with preventive and corrective maintenance (PM/CM) tasks on electrical panels, switchgear, variable frequency drives (VFDs), sensors, transmitters, and instrumentation devices under supervision.
- Participate in equipment inspections and field verifications, ensuring safe work areas, proper PPE use, and compliance with site safety standards (LOTO, arc flash, confined space, etc.).
- Learn and apply basic electrical measurement and diagnostic techniques (voltage, current, continuity, insulation resistance) under mentor guidance.
- Support instrumentation calibration and verification for transmitters (temperature, pressure, flow, level, conductivity, pH), following standard calibration procedures.
- Absorb and execute infrared (IR) scans, vibration checks, and panel inspections, learning to identify abnormal conditions or potential reliability risks.
- Record and document readings, results, and maintenance data in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) such as Maximo, ensuring accurate data entry and closeout tracking.
- Shadow technicians and engineers to gain an understanding of system operation, control sequences, and instrumentation architecture within semiconductor facility environments.
- Support the review and update of maintenance documentation, schematics, and calibration logs, learning proper document control practices.
- Assist with the installation, wiring, and termination of new instruments or control devices under the supervision of a qualified technician.
- Observe and participate in equipment startups and functional tests, learning the steps of safe energization and control loop verification.
- Learn and practice proper use and care of test equipment, such as multimeters, calibrators, loop testers, and IR cameras.
- Participate in daily shift passdowns, toolbox talks, and safety meetings, contributing to discussions on work planning and safe work practices.
- Absorb and maintain spare parts inventory and tool management, ensuring materials are organized, labeled, and returned to designated locations.
- Assist in developing and maintaining instrumentation tags, calibration databases, and equipment lists to support traceability and accuracy.
- Engage in on-the-job training and mentorship sessions with senior E&I staff to build technical, procedural, and safety competencies.
- Follow all EHS and electrical safety protocols, immediately reporting hazards, near misses, or unsafe conditions to supervision.
- Learn the fundamentals of process instrumentation within UPW, Wastewater, and Mechanical Utility systems, developing familiarity with how electrical and control systems interface with facility processes.
- Support troubleshooting activities by observing diagnostics, learning to interpret trends, alarms, and control loop behaviors.
- Participate in assigned engineering or improvement projects, collecting data, assisting with test execution, and contributing to documentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional workspace, ensuring all work areas are left in safe and orderly condition after tasks.
- Demonstrate initiative, curiosity, and teamwork by actively engaging with mentors, asking questions, and seeking to understand system functionality and site operations.
- Uphold LotusWorks’ culture of Safety, Quality, Reliability, and Learning, acting with professionalism and respect at all times.
