About the role

Chemours is seeking an Electrician to join our growing team in Starke, Florida. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Daily activities: Ensure all work is performed within company, state, and federal regulations, standards, statutes, policies, and procedures.
  • Identify and promote opportunities to improve mine safety performance, act as a safety leader.
  • Maintain and service all machinery, including mechanical and electrical, instrumentation, control, lighting and fixtures, outlets and wiring, generators, etc.
  • Install, replace, troubleshoot, repair and maintain electrical distribution systems including electric motors, transformers, switchgear, starters, and MCC’s.
  • Fabricate, install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain DCS and PLC control systems, SCADA and wireless systems, control panels, control boxes, and specialized electrical equipment and machinery.
  • Complete open work orders and complete preventive maintenance activities as required by manufacturers OEM standards.
  • Assist mechanics in maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical and process equipment.
  • Respond to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service.
  • Goals for the role: Act as a Safety Leader to ensure individual and team Safety remain top priority in the planning and execution of all tasks. Work closely with Company Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) personnel targeting zero incidents and continuous improvement of mine site EHS performance. Continuous improvement in maintenance approach, encourage initiatives intended to reduce safety risk, increase productivity and efficiency, reduce maintenance cost.

Skills

  • Knowledge Of: Methods and techniques of troubleshooting, repairing and installing plant equipment. Programmable logic controls, co-processors, DCS, SCADA and wireless systems. Office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications.
  • Ability To: Troubleshoot and maintain plant equipment, machinery and related facilities. Operate power hand tools and other specialized electrical equipment. Operate office equipment including computers and supporting software applications. Adapt to changing technologies and learn functionality of new equipment and systems. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

Requirements

  • High School graduate and Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or five (5) to ten (10) years related experience as an E&I Mechanic in an industrial environment and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
  • Knowledge of the National Electric Code required and familiarity with NFPA Arc Flash safety regulations, valid Journeyman Certification.
