The Electrical & Industrial Maintenance Technician at Smurfit Westrock's pulp and paper mill in Dublin, GA, supports the company's goal of achieving world-class performance levels. Key responsibilities include identifying and mitigating safety hazards, utilizing mechanical and electrical skills to maintain equipment, and engaging in preventive and predictive maintenance.

Requirements

• Proven record of performance with a drive to advance
• Ability to handle heat, noise, shift work, and work indoors or outdoors
• Excellent mechanical and electrical skills, including pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, power transmission, lubrication, rigging, welding, PLC’s, A/C, D/C motors and drives, schematics, and 480 Volt, 4160volt, 3-Phase Controls; AB/Rockwell DC Drive; AB/Rockwell PLC’s, Control Logic; reading electrical drawings and ladder logic
• Knowledge of NFPA-70E and NEC requirements for maintaining electrical systems
• Ability to use and care for test equipment and electrical PPE to troubleshoot electrical AC DC motors, motor control circuits, and process instrumentation loops and make necessary repairs with minimal supervision
• Experience with Distributed Controls System (DCS) troubleshooting process controls
• High school diploma/GED with 5 years of experience in Electrical and Instrumentation Field or Electrical and Instrumentation Degree; mechanical craft experience a positive benefit
• Knowledge of industry standards
• Experience in pulp and paper preferred but not required
• Must be willing to work shift work and able to respond to calls
• Computer skills - Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel; MS Project is a plus
• Strong electronics background preferred with experience also in 480 Volt, 4160volt, 3-Phase Controls; AB/Rockwell DC Drive; AB/Rockwell PLC’s, Control Logic; Reading Electrical Drawings and Ladder Logic
• Must undergo a drug screening after receiving a conditional job offer, but before starting employment
