Job Overview
The Printing and Production Specialist operates high-speed digital, multi-functional printing equipment and various binding and finishing machinery to support publishing and production services. This position is responsible for job setup, production, routine equipment maintenance, and maintaining accurate records on production activities and machine performance. The Specialist ensures that equipment, supplies, and materials are available and ready to meet all publishing service requests.
Responsibilities
- Operate high-speed digital multi-functional printers.
- Adjust and operate finishing and bindery equipment, including power staplers, multi-head drills, paper cutters, and binding machines.
- Perform digital and hardcopy job setup, ensuring accurate configuration for each production task.
- Conduct routine maintenance, minor repairs, and equipment adjustments as needed.
- Maintain detailed job production records, including quantities completed, production times, and materials used.
- Complete requisition forms for supplies and materials when replenishment is required.
- Maintain records on machine maintenance, repair actions, and equipment downtime.
- Ensure equipment, supplies, and related materials are available to support continuous and timely publishing operations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support printing and production operations.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to operate, adjust, and perform minor repairs on high-speed digital printing equipment and a wide assortment of bindery/finishing machines.
- Knowledge of printing processes, production methods, and finishing equipment operation.
- Ability to maintain accurate production and maintenance records.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet time-sensitive printing requirements.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining equipment readiness.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work efficiently in a production-focused environment.
