Position Summary
Essential Responsibilities And Duties
- Safely transport crushed rock, sand, gravel, and other materials to and from designated project sites.
- Haul heavy equipment as directed, ensuring secure and compliant transport.
- Verify materials being hauled comply with weight and load restrictions.
- Inspect and maintain dump truck before and after trips, including checking oil, gas, water, lights, and tires.
- Perform regular maintenance such as greasing every 5,000 miles and promptly report mechanical issues.
- Maintain accurate and compliant driver logs, weigh bills, load tickets, and other required documentation.
- Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) and company safety regulations.
- Assist with site duties, such as sweeping debris, handling tarps, tailgate chains, and securing binders.
- Support field crews with labor or logistics tasks when needed.

Qualifications
- Minimum age 21 with a valid CDL Class A driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate required.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience operating heavy equipment and dump trucks in the construction or utilities industry.
- Proven ability to drive manual transmissions.
- Strong understanding of construction site safety, truck maintenance, and DOT road safety regulations.
Skills & Abilities
- Basic math, reading, and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform light manual labor and safely climb in and out of vehicles multiple times daily.
- Capable of working in varying weather conditions and handling noise and vibration from job sites and equipment.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on completing tasks efficiently and safely.
