About the Role

Supports and performs customer service, merchandising, omni activities, and all inventory-related actions alongside store management to drive sales and results. Partners with the management team to understand daily, weekly, and monthly store priorities. Participates in and supports merchandise placement, fulfillment, store recovery, and monitoring of associate compliance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Empower and personalize the customer experience by modeling Customer Experience Leader (CEL) behaviors and coaching associates to achieve store goals and KPIs.
  • Respond to customer and associate requests or feedback with urgency, ensuring a positive experience by maintaining DSW store standards.
  • Complete daily open/close tasks, including store cleaning, recovery, and maintenance, and communicate action plans to ensure task completion.
  • Improve metric-based goals by reviewing and communicating daily, weekly, and monthly progress to increase sales and productivity.
  • Execute processes related to audits, donations, transfers, mismates, and damages.
  • Set clear expectations and follow up on inventory activities, including freight receipt, product placement, markdowns, and mark out of stock (MOOS).
  • Set clear expectations and follow up on omni activities, such as Charge/Send and Buy Online Pick Up In Store (BOPIS).
  • Ensure a safe environment for customers and associates, reporting equipment issues to the Store Manager.
  • Equip associates to resolve customer concerns and escalate issues to the Store Manager when necessary.
  • Support the Store Manager with associate timekeeping activities, including scheduling, forecasting, payroll management, and labor deliverables.
  • Assist in resolving associate relations matters and provide feedback on associate performance.
  • Recognize and motivate the store team through company recognition tools and support team development via training, coaching, and feedback.
  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding Store Associate candidates.
  • Perform other associate duties as assigned by the Store Manager or Co-Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of management experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.

Skills

  • Excellent customer service, professionalism, and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to develop collaborative working relationships.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace and hold the team accountable for time-bound expectations.
  • Must be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and shifts outside traditional business hours.
  • Proficient in using technology for customer interactions (e.g., register, iPhone, calculator).
  • Ability to stand or walk for up to 100% of working time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally to frequently.
  • Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
