DSP Associate Director - Murray House
The Role
The primary responsibility of the Associate Director is to work cooperatively with the Program Director to provide quality services to the people living in the home, and to uphold the agency philosophy in carrying out the day-to-day tasks. The job includes working directly with direct care staff and demonstrating excellence in all areas of the residential counselor position, as well as interviewing, hiring, and supervising staff in order to maintain the highest possible quality of life for the residents. It also includes many administrative tasks, such as scheduling staff, financial management, home management, monitoring health issues and clothing needs, ensuring that the home is meeting agency and governmental standards of operation. The job requires a significant amount of written documentation and use of the computer.
Responsibilities
- Work cooperatively with the Program Director to provide quality services to the people living in the home.
- Demonstrate excellence in all areas of the residential counselor position.
- Interview, hire, and supervise staff.
- Schedule staff, manage finances, and ensure compliance with agency and governmental standards.
- Monitor health issues and clothing needs.
- Document daily activities and maintain accurate records.
- Use computer systems for various administrative tasks.
- Collaborate with agency administration and/or Division and DHS staff during inspections or investigations.
Requirements
- Previous experience as Program Assistant or Associate Director preferred.
- B.A. degree preferred in Special Education or related field or 1 year of supervisory experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
- Driver's license valid in the State of New Jersey with a good driving record.
- Knowledge of computer programs required.
- Flexibility to meet the needs of the program; schedule subject to change; On-call requirements.
- Must attend Staff Meetings.

Pay and Schedule
Full Time-Shift: 40 hours per week, (Monday 7am-3pm, Tuesday 1pm-9pm, Wednesday 7am-3pm, Thursday 7am-3pm and Sunday 8am-4pm).
