About the role

The Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) is seeking a System Administrator to join the Service Desk within the Community Services Division. The Service Desk provides statewide technical support to employees.

Responsibilities

  • Provide remote systems administration involving systems analysis, planning, and coordinating the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware, software systems, and systems environment
  • Ensure security and availability of the Automated Client Eligibility System (ACES), Electronic Jobs Automated System, and Barcode system
  • Diagnose and repair server hardware and provide server administration
  • Receive remote technical assistance call requests through Avaya
  • Provide network support services related to Local Area Network involving planning and coordinating the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of physical network components
  • Provide primary technical and customer support for Economic Services Administration IT Systems
  • Participate in and lead regional and/or statewide projects
  • Administration of mobile phones/communication devices
  • Manage auxiliary IT devices and software resources

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree including nine semester or 15 quarter hours of computer science courses AND four years of consultative, administrative, or supervisory experience in information technology analysis, system maintenance, or troubleshooting/problem resolution experience, or analyzing, designing or programming computer systems applications or databases.
  • OR
  • An Associate's degree or completion of an accredited vocational training program in an information technology or related program AND six years of consultative, administrative, or supervisory experience in information technology analysis, system maintenance, or troubleshooting/problem resolution experience or analyzing, designing or programming computer systems applications or databases.
  • Eight years of Information Technology experience.
  • Concurrently: a minimum of three years (within the last (4) years) experience implementing, maintaining, supporting, and administering multiple Windows 10 workstations or newer, MS Windows 2019 Server or newer, Microsoft Office 2019 or O365 or newer.

Qualifications

  • Must be eligible to drive on state business and have a valid driver's license.
  • Must have liability insurance on the privately owned vehicle for state business.
