About the role

The Field Sales Representative is responsible for growing assigned retail accounts by influencing retailers and collaborating with distributors to advance PNC sales, distribution, and display execution. This role drives business performance within the Regional Sales team and develops local chains as needed. Key responsibilities include managing a territory, delivering KPIs, building retailer relationships, and collaborating with distributor personnel to ensure sales execution and product availability.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a territory and account base (chain and independent) to deliver weekly/monthly KPIs for account calls, display execution, brand visibility, cases sold, and new SKU distribution.
  • Maintain customer focus to proactively identify service opportunities, respond to customer problems, and partner internally and with distributors to meet customer needs.
  • Build effective working relationships at all levels of the DSD network, with a focus on sales reps and supervisors; communicate opportunities and follow up consistently.
  • Participate in distributor training, sales meeting presentations, crew drives, and work-withs.
  • Use the VIP Karma app to track, audit, follow up, and execute store visits.
  • Penetrate new and void accounts using PNC data, analytics, and distributor resources.
  • Increase PNC store presence through eye-level shelving and multiple points of display.
  • Grow the number of PNC SKUs in the market by closing voids and presenting to in-store management.
  • Collaborate with managers and counterparts across the country and the Regional Execution Group (REG) team.
  • Complete administrative duties, including recaps, distributor follow-ups, weekly communications, expense submissions, and scorecard updates.
  • Embed and improve efficient ways of working and processes across store managers, distributors, and customers.

Time allocation

  • 50% – Driving execution of the region to achieve targets: Track performance vs. KPIs, build corrective action plans, foster a growth-oriented team culture, drive channel activation in Grocery and Convenience, support product development, ensure process adherence, and capture continuous improvement opportunities. Accountable for increased distribution, display activation, and permanent secondary locations.
  • 20% – Leading training and execution of assigned distributor partners: Work with managers, field reps, and merchandisers to improve PNC brand execution at retail; attend distributor sales meetings; leverage VIP data for training and development.
  • 30% – Owning relationships with third-party distributors, brokers, and agency service providers: Define clear scopes of work, ensure external partners achieve KPIs, build strategic partnerships, and deliver best-in-class presence at industry events and customer meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1–3 years of sales experience in the consumer packaged goods industry (preferred), merchandising, direct store delivery, or supplier sales.
  • High level of organization and enthusiasm.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Skilled at presenting in front of groups.

Pay

The expected pay scale for this role is $60,000 to $80,000, varying based on relevant experience, qualifications, geographic area, and internal equity.
