Drop Box Technician
About the Position
The incumbent will serve in various Divisions as an Election Judge Technician, Warehouse Technician, Distribution Supply Technician and Drop Box Driver. Incumbents in this position are considered an "Essential Employee," during an election cycle. The election cycle begins three (3) months prior to an election and one (1) month following the election.
About the Agency
The mission of the Prince George's County Board of Elections is to promote voter education, administer an efficient voting process, maintain an accurate voter registration database, and ensure that elected officials are elected in accordance with Federal, State, and County election laws. The Board of Elections is responsible for the supervision of elections, voter registration and record keeping, and the administration of election laws in Prince George's County, in accordance with The Election Law Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. with training in basic computer systems
- Successful completion of probationary period of six (6) months at the Data Entry Operator II level
- Two (2) years of experience in data entry/processing
- Must be a resident of the state of Maryland
- Must be a registered voter in the State of Maryland
Preferred Qualifications
- Candidates interested in Election Supply packing must be able to lift 60 lbs.

Conditions of Employment
- Upon selection, the candidate must: Have reliable transportation as travel to polling places and drop boxes is required. Meet all training and performance standards and demonstrate proficiency as required by the agency.
- Wear and use agency protective apparel and equipment in the performance of their assigned duties, if applicable.
- May be required to successfully pass preemployment checks which may include reference checks, background investigations, and drug screenings, where applicable.
- Be willing and able to serve as an essential employee. Essential employees are expected to report during standard or non-standard hours as operations necessitate, or during emergencies.
- Essential employees are expected to report or remain at work when other County employees are granted Administrative Leave.
- Be willing to adhere to the nature of the service provided by this agency, all employees are considered essential during an election cycle. The election cycle begins three months prior to an election and continues one month following the election or until the election is certified.
