Driver/Service Worker - Clean Streets Program

About the role

This Driver/Service Worker will be part of a two-man crew supporting the Clean Streets Program in the Soulard Neighborhood. The position involves sidewalk/curb to sidewalk/curb cleaning, litter removal, and debris collection.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning/maintenance of streets, common public areas, alleys, curbs, and sidewalks.
• Complete work assignments in a timely manner.
• Utilize the appropriate tools and supplies according to procedure.
• Use and maintain vehicle and equipment properly.
• Operate and maintain all equipment correctly and safely.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• Report safety hazards as appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid Driver's License and clean driver's record.
• One year of Janitor/Custodian or janitorial/custodian experience preferred.
• One year of experience operating floor care or motorized equipment preferred.
• Strong active listening skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Good time management skills.
• Good physical stamina.
• Mechanical skills.

• Adhere to dress code, appearance is neat and clean.
• Complete monthly/annual safety training requirements.
• Report to work on time and as scheduled.
• Wear identification while on duty.
• Maintain regulatory requirements; state, federal and local regulations.
• Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times.
• Comply with all policies and standards regarding ethical business practices.
• Communicate the mission, ethics and goals of the organization.
• Participate in performance and continuous quality improvement activities.
