Driver - Retail Rescue/CDL B

About the role

The Retail Rescue/CDL B Driver – Warehouse Associate position at the Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri involves operating the fleet vehicles, picking up orders, maintaining records, and collaborating with partners. This role requires a CDL B license, basic computer skills, and a commitment to safety and food handling practices.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Food Bank’s fleet vehicles according to schedule
• Pick up orders from The Food Bank, local donors, and food pick-up routes promptly and on schedule
• Record food picked up on routes
• Collaborate on warehouse storage and shelf stocking
• Uphold the Core Values of The Food Bank while performing duties
• Stock and load trucks for Mobile Pantry Drivers and verify orders for Delivery Drivers
• Return paperwork to the appropriate team member promptly
• Maintain accurate inventory counts

Requirements

• CDL B License
• Safe driving history
• Basic computer skills for daily data entry
• Able to adapt to changing job duties
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Able to perform and calculate basic math
• Comfortable instructing individuals and groups
• Able to manage, organize, and prioritize multiple tasks
• Welcome collaboration and teamwork
• Good customer service skills
• Food Handler’s permit or willingness to obtain one within 30 days of employment
• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Adaptability to consistently changing job duties
• Ability to solve problems and take initiative
• Sensitivity to the needs of the low-income community

Skills

• Forklift certification (on-the-job training provided if needed)
• Electric and manual pallet jack usage
