Job Summary
Under routine supervision, this position supports driver recruiting efforts through high-volume cold calling and lead generation.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute high-volume outbound cold calling in a fast-paced, call center environment to generate driver interest and maintain a consistent pipeline of candidates
- Manage inbound inquiries to efficiently convert leads into active candidates
- Consistently follow up with leads through calls, text (SMS), and email to sustain engagement
- Work daily call queues and dialing systems to meet defined activity and conversion goals
- Sources and engages leads from internal databases, internet resources, and targeted recruiting campaigns
- Evaluate and pre-qualify driver candidates based on J.B. Hunt and DOT requirements
- Clearly communicate compensation, benefits, and available opportunities to prospective drivers
- Guide candidates through the application and pre-qualification process, creating a smooth and timely experience
- Partner with the core Recruiting team by providing clear, detailed hand-offs of qualified candidates to support final hiring and onboarding; cross-train to support other CDP functions, including assisting the Onboarding team as needed during peak call times
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of leads, outreach activities, and candidate status within designated systems
- Build rapport quickly and overcome objections to maintain candidate momentum
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: The expected pay for this position is $18.50 per hour. High School Diploma/GED and demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences
- Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediums
- Comfortable with high-volume cold calling and phone-based work
- Able to manage multiple priorities
- Able to work with minimal direction
- Able to quickly pivot messaging based on market conditions, candidate objections, and specific hiring needs
- Able to remain committed to completing objectives by sustaining effort and follow-through despite setbacks
Preferred Qualifications
- Up to 1 year of experience in recruiting, sales, customer service, call center environment, and/or military equivalent
- Experience with cold calling, outbound sales, or high-volume outreach strongly preferred
Compensation Factors
The pay for this position is $18.50 per hour. Other factors that may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
