Driver Recruiter
Veriha Trucking, Inc. · Green Bay, Wisconsin Metropolitan Area · 3 wk ago
HybridFull-time
About the role
Every mile Veriha drives starts with a phone call. As our Driver Recruiter, you are the first person a professional driver talks to, the reason they choose Veriha over the truck down the road, and a direct force behind the growth of a family-owned carrier that has been moving freight since 1978. If you love the chase, the close, and the relationship, this is your kind of work.
- You own your pipeline. You are trusted to find, engage, and close qualified drivers, not just process paperwork.
- Your work is visible. Every hire you make puts a truck on the road and moves the company forward.
- You are backed by a real brand. Veriha is an award-winning fleet with a story drivers want to be part of, which makes your job easier.
- Flexibility is on the table. For an experienced recruiter, we are open to a hybrid or fully remote setup.
- Room to grow. This role reports directly to the VP of Fleet Development and sits close to company leadership.
Responsibilities
- Work driver leads quickly and build genuine rapport across phone, text, and email.
- Screen applicants against Veriha and DOT/FMCSA standards, including CDL class, endorsements, driving history, and employment history.
- Represent the Veriha opportunity honestly and well: pay, benefits, equipment, safety technology, and culture.
- Handle objections and competing offers, and convert qualified candidates into conditional offers.
- Keep candidates engaged from offer through orientation so they start strong and stay.
- Track your numbers (leads worked, conversion rates, time to hire, 90-day retention) and use them to sharpen your approach.
- Hit and exceed monthly hiring goals in a metrics-driven, tiered environment.
- Maintain accurate, timely candidate records in the applicant tracking system.
Requirements
- At least one year of recruiting experience, and transportation industry experience preferred, but not required.
- A closer's mindset. You are comfortable selling, handling objections, and moving people to a decision.
- Strong communication that is warm, confident, and persuasive, both on the phone and in writing.
- A track record of meeting or exceeding goals or quotas in a metrics-driven role.
- Organization and urgency to manage many candidates at once without letting anyone slip.
- Sound judgment and a high standard of confidentiality when handling personal information.
- Comfort with Excel, Word, Outlook, ATS/CRM systems, and candidate texting tools, plus a willingness to learn new platforms.
- Availability for occasional evening or weekend hours when the pipeline calls for it.
Schedule
This position is based at our Marinette, Wisconsin office. For the right experienced recruiter, we are open to a hybrid or fully remote arrangement.
